Rav Singh / Shade of Miti and Jane Hayes / Hoffmann Hayes are partnering with the Ontario Parks Association to offer Community Gardens Workshops on Cultivating Food and Community.
The certified workshop is geared toward municipalities thinking about starting or revitalizing a community garden program. We addresses logistics, operations, costs, and community engagement concerns and:
- Types of community gardens, and community garden programs, and their benefits;
- Garden site selection and criteria;
- Policy considerations;
- Garden programming (supports, funding, resources, target audiences, etc.).
The next online workshop is Thursday April 2nd, 8:30 am – 2:30 pm. See info on the April session HERE. Interest in a session on another date can be registered HERE. Please share with any municipality friends or contacts that you think may be interested. Note that the workshop is usually delivered online and occasionally in person, and is certified by OPA.
