I love urban agriculture and all things community food and gardening related, so am super excited to share information about Toronto’s Urban Agriculture Week (September 14-22). UA week coincides nicely with gorgeous fall weather and is a natural time for food gardeners and others to coming together and celebrate harvest time.
The week’s events, tours and activities start with the GrowTO Fair at Regent Park on Saturday Sept 14th, 11am-4pm, at 260 Dundas St E (east of Parliament). The event includes vendors with urban-grown products and services, info tables, demonstrations for DIY urban growers, and The Best in GrowTO Contest.
Other events across the city include the Scarborough Horticultural Society’s Flower, Fruit and Vegetable Show, Fresh City Farms’ Pick Your Own Farm Day, and various community garden and rooftop tours! You can also find workshops, club meetings and a film screening. Enjoy and I hope to see you at one of these wonderful events.
